The Pan Shot Gallery

The first ever pan shot I made in 1994: This is Wringin Anom (700mm gauge) locomotive no 7 an 0-8-0 Klein Lindner 'hollow' axle built by Du Croo & Braun of the Netherland hauling in loaded cane train from the field in the afternoon. Wringin Anom is situated near the town of Situbondo in East Java.

Kebon Agung (700mm gauge) no 10 an 0-8-0 Klein Lindner Orenstein & Koppel of Germany locomotive running alongside the road on the way back to the mill. Taken in 1995. Kebon Agung is just South of Malang in East Java.

Gondand Baru (700mm gauge) 'new' engine Orenstein & Koppel speeding toward the mill in 1995. This engine was kept in store for 10 years in the Rendeng mill before being resuscitated by the Gondang people. This is another example of the 0-8-0 Klein Lindner locomotives. Gondang Baru is situated near Klaten on the Yogya - Solo main road, and it has a sugar museum.

Semboro no 19 an 0-4-4-0 Mallet of 700mm gauge built by Orenstein & Koppel going back to the mill in the afternoon as it has finished its job of hauling ash train. Taken in 1997. Notice the man in the cab pointing to the photographer, whom he remembers seeing the previous years! Semboro is just South of Tanggul near Jember in East Java.

Sindang Laut (720mm gauge) no 10 an 0-8-0 Klien Lindner by Jung going back to the mill, taken in 1997. Sindang Laut is in the town of Sindang Laut 20km South East of Cirebon in West Java.

Trangkil (750mm gauge) has always been very entertaining, they like to run their engines faster than other mills! No 1 is an 0-6-0 By Du Croo & Braun. Trangkil is ust North of the town of Pati in Central Java.

This could just barely pass as a pan shot! The engine was running at a walking pace, waiting for the group to reboard the train. No 1 is an Orenstein & Koppel 0-4-0 which reminds me of LGB toy engine! The place is Pakis Baru (750mm gauge). Pakis is in Tayu a little bit further on to the North West of Trangkil in Central Java. Picture taken in 1997.

Here is a very unique steam locomotive, probably the only one in the world! Rejosari no 10 is an indirect jackshaft driven 0-8-0 locomotive built by Orenstein & Koppel. Rejosari (700mm gauge) is to the South West of Madiun in East Java. Picture taken in 1997.

I took two pan shots of this engine going forward and backward in 1998 and only one came out good! Guess which one was that? This is an 0-10-0 by Schwarzkopf of Berlin. This is a logging railway in the teak forest of Cepu (1067mm gauge). The HQ is in the town of Cepu in East Java but very near to the border with Central Java.
